“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.’’
God is God. When we say this, it means that He is not a fool. If we keep on doing things for our flesh, and not for our spirit, then we should not expect God to reward us with an everlasting life.
Sometimes, we are taking God for granted. We will do things on our own. We already knew from the start that it’s not God’s will but we still do it anyway. And when the time comes that we suffer from our action’s consequences, we blame God. We are so good in blaming Him that we are not realizing that we are only reaping what we sow. We can’t plant a wild grass and expect an apple to grow from it.
God is a great God. Don’t wait for that day when we can’t feel His presence anymore. We were saved by His grace, yes, and not with the things that we do, but if we are calling ourselves as saved and children of God, then we should act like one. We should not harden our hearts, because having nothing in this world is not the hardest test that we will ever experienced, but it’s when we cannot feel God’s presence anymore.
We should always desire His presence and work on the things that will serve as our foundation for eternity. We should never get tired of doing good.
We need to do good things for God’s glory. We need to be a blessing to everyone. We need to draw people near to God. Plant good seeds and later on, we will reap good fruits. Matthew 10:42 “And whoever gives one of these little ones only a cup of cold water in the name of a disciple, assuredly, I say to you, he shall by no means lose his reward.”
Father, we thank You for Your presence. Give us an obedient spirit. Give us a spirit who seeks You, who longs for Your words and obediently follows them. We want to live according to Your will God and do things that will please You. We reap what we sow and we know that our labor will not be in vain. You are a just God and You know our hearts. Help us to be faithful always. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
